Firstxtra Financial Services is a long established family owned business with professional advisers covering the South of England with the head office in Newbury, Berkshire.

Firstxtra has been trading for over 20 years with a team of highly skilled and enthusiastic professional advisers and administrators who specialise in mortgages and protection insurance.

Our philosophy is to provide the highest level of customer service and advice to all our clients. Director

Alan founded Firstxtra in 1994 and is still involved in the business and helps his son Chris.

CHRIS HALL

Managing Director

Chris joined Firstxtra in April 2004. As Managing Director, Chris looks after the daily management of the business, and specialises in mortgage and protection advice. Chris lives in Newbury with his wife, two children plus the dog and enjoys cars, holidays, running and watching sports.

JOHN MURRAY

Director of Mortgages

Joined Firstxtra in 2014 having worked in financial services most of his adult life and is now our Director of Mortgages. As a fully CeMAP qualified mortgage adviser, John can assist with all types of mortgages including purchase, remortgage, buy-to-let and other schemes such as shared ownership. He was recognised in June 2024 as one of the top brokers in the UK by Mortgage Introducer magazine. John lives in Hermitage with his wife, two daughters and dog. He is a Reading FC supporter, enjoys music gigs and festivals and long country walks.

Ryan Facey

RYAN FACEY

Director of Mortgages

Ryan started his career with Firstxtra in 2019 having advised since 2015. Ryan is fully CeMap qualified and is a mortgage specialist. Ryan enjoys playing football, running and spending time with his daughter and partner. Ryan Became a Director Of mortgages in January 2024.

FATIMA KHAN

Senior Mortgage and Protection Adviser

Fatima started her career with Firstxtra in 2016. She has worked in the mortgage industry for eighteen years. Fatima is fully CeMap qualified and can advise on mortgages and protection and is one of the Senior Advisers. Fatima enjoys socialising, long walks and spending time with family.

Ross joined FirstXtra in March 2023 and has been in the industry since 2018. He is fully CII qualified and can advise on mortgages and equity release.

Ross lives in Oxford and enjoys spending time with his partner and 2 young children, watching sports and socialising with friends.

i joined Firstxtra in March 2022, and has since completed an apprenticeship and her CeMap qualification. I enjoys spending time with family & friends, going to the gym and shopping!

Luke joined Firstxtra in July 2025 and has been in the industry since 2019. Luke is fully CeMAP qualified and is a Mortgage specialist.

Luke lives in the Oxford area and in his spare time enjoys weekend city breaks, watching football and is a recreational drummer.

Teresa Williams

TERESA WILLIAMS

Mortgage Adviser

Teresa started her career in the property sector as an Estate agent before becoming a fully qualified CeMAP mortgage specialist in 2020. Giving her a deep understanding of the entire purchasing journey – from first viewings to completion.

Teresa enjoys spending time with her husband and two children whether it’s day trips, long countryside walks or visiting their horse at the yard.

I joined firstxtra in august 2025 and I am currently completing a business administration apprenticeship. In my spare time I enjoy going on holiday, shopping. And spending time with friends and family.

Home Insurance Adviser

Emma joined Firstxtra in 2016 having previously worked for Pepsico. Emma advises on Home and Contents insurance and helps with Business Development. Emma has lived in Newbury all her life and lives with Chris, their two children and the dog. She enjoys sunshine holidays, fashion and running.

I’ve been in the protection industry as an adviser for over 10 years, I lived in Bali for a year but now back in Portsmouth, love travelling, big foodie and I’m also a scuba diving instructor!

ASHLEY SMITH

Protection Insurance Adviser

I have been working in the protection industry for over 10 years and am fully CertPro qualified. I live in Portsmouth with my wife and we have our first child on the way, I enjoy long walks with my 3 dogs and spending time with family over in America.

Ashley joined FirstXtra in September 2025, following a successful career to date as a Protection Broker for over 8 years and he will continue to advise on Personal and Business Protection policies at FirstXtra. Ashley lives in Oxfordshire with his partner and 2 children. Ashley enjoys spending time with his Family and friends and loves to cook. Ashley is also a part time football coach and is a UEFA B qualified.

With a background in commercial strategy, Ian is passionate about helping clients secure the right funding to move their projects forward. He works closely with developers, investors and introducers to deliver straightforward advice and long-term support. Outside of work, Ian enjoys music, spending time with his family, and long walks that end with a well-earned stop at the pub.

Laura joined Firstxtra in February 2020 as the PA to Chris Hall, previously working as a PA to an award winning mark-up artist part-time while looking after her three daughters. In her spare time Laura loves spending time with her family and keeping fit.

Lauren joined Firstxtra in 2019 after studying at the University of Brighton for three years. She is now a PA to Ryan Facey. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her friends and going to the gym.

Chloe joined Firstxra in August 2020 and is PA to Director of Mortgages John Murray, after previously working in recruitment. In her spare time Chloe enjoys cooking and going on holiday.

Lilly joined FirstXtra in September 2022 to start her apprenticeship in Business and Administration, she has since completed this with a pass and is now PA to Hollie Barrett. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, shopping and going on holiday!

Tori joined Firstxtra in 2018 and is PA to Beth Park. In her spare time Tori enjoys spending time with her three children and socialising with friends.

June joined FirstXtra in March 2023 after working for local government for over 30 years. June is now P/A to Paris and Pat and in her spare time enjoys holidays, spending time with family and long walks with the family dog.
