Lambourn is a large village based in the North West of Berkshire. The village is most famous for its many horse racing stables and its association with National Hunt Horse Racing. Situated on the River Lambourn, the village is neighboured with such towns as Newbury, Swindon and Hungerford. Being a small village, it does not have its own railway station, with its nearest station being Hungerford. There is a bus service running daily and an easy route to get straight to the M4 corridor. This is used very much by villagers travelling to London to work. There are over 30 stables in the area, including horse trainer Nicky Henderson who has his horses based at Seven Barrows. Lambourn has been spelt in many ways over many centuries, most notably recent with many road signs still using Lambourne as its destination name.
