Theale is a village located in the centre of Berkshire. Based on the River Kennet, it is only 5 miles away from Reading. The village has its own railway station and is on the London Paddington to Taunton line which gives easy travel options towards towns such as Newbury, Reading and London. Theale is also located just south of Junction 12 on the M4 corridor. There are 2 main schools in the area, Theale Green Community School, which is a specialist arts college and then the Church of England Primary School. Both of which are widely used by the Theale community during the past century. Some history of the village goes back to late 1643 where after the First Battle of Newbury; there was a standoff between The Royalist and The Parliamentarian forces. The Parliamentarians attacked the Royalists from behind on their way back from London and caused huge numbers of casualties.
