High Wycombe is a large town that is located about 29 miles North West of Charing Cross in London. It is also located Buckinghamshire, England. This town is best known as an industrial and market town. There has been a market on High Street since the Middle Ages giving this town a very historic and important feel. In the early 20th century the town experienced some problems, there were decaying slums and many of them were demolished and the people there were put up in other homes. However, it is possible to find many beautiful old buildings that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries on St. Mary’s Street. In the 1960’s the town was redeveloped and many buildings were demolished, but they included an open area in the town known as the Frogmoor. Today High Wycombe includes a good number of suburbs as well as some nearby villages. It is located in the county of Buckinghamshire, which is now one of the wealthiest parts of the country. The town is presently undergoing some huge redevelopments. This includes the completion of a new Shopping Centre called Eden Shopping Centre. The redevelopment also includes the Buckinghamshire New University; it will have a huge student village and a new building. These improvements have given the town a new vitality.
