How far would you get on £89.35 per week?

You might be surprised to find that Statutory Sick Pay is only £89.35* per week. Enough to fill up your car maybe, but how far through the week would you get?

It could pay to get all the facts on what the state might provide you:

• Statutory Sick Pay is only £89.35* a week and is only paid for up to 28 weeks – although your employer may pay more than this
• With Employment and Support allowance you’ll get up to £73.10* a week – not a lot when you consider the average household family spend is £528.90* a week.
• And it increases up to £109.65* a week from the fourteenth week – just over a fifth of the average weekly outgoings.
